Rich in it’s 126 year-old heritage, the property known as Kuppamudi Estate was originally owned and run by the British plantation pioneers until they sold it to Dutch entrepreneurs after independence who ultimately sold out to M/s Aswati Plantations Pvt Ltd in 1994, a company that has a long and rich history in successfully managing tea and coffee plantations.
Kuppamudi Estate was traditionally a Coffee plantation inter-planted with Arecanut and Pepper. We embarked on a crop diversification project in 2015 by inter-planting various exotic fruit trees – Lychee, Mangosteen, imported strains of Jackfruit, Rambutan and Avocado along with the unique two in one spice - Nutmeg & Mace, giving our guests a wonderful opportunity to see how these crops grow and if in season, how they taste!
As you can probably guess by now, the property is flourishing with flora and fauna lending it to be an ideal experiential holiday destination.
*Coffee picking season is between January and March, at which point the plantation is buzzing with activity and delicious aroma of freshly picked coffee! A Plantation tour can be conducted for guests with prior notice during this season!
